Wi-Fi Specifications

Phylink camera is designed to only work with standard 802.11b/g/n wireless devices and the frequency range is 2.412 ~ 2.462GHz, it's not compatible with 802.11AC. But Phylink camera can work with a 2.4 Ghz/5 Ghz dual band router. If your router is using the 5GHz band, please ensure it is operating in a mixed mode.

A dual band router typically not needed for camera. Here's why: 2.4 Ghz has a longer wavelength than 5 Ghz. At the very highest settings, the camera uses slightly over 4 mb of bandwidth. Typical settings and factory defaults are less than that. Of course even with lowest cost routers such as the $39.95 Linksys E900, the 2.4 Ghz band has many times the required bandwidth. So 5 Ghz or dual band wouldn't provide an advantage except at locations where there might be high interference only on 2.4 Ghz.
